1. Power of thoughts

Your child’s mindset is the secret behind their self-esteem, resilience, happiness, and what he or she can achieve in their lives. Children feel powerful when they understand how their thoughts create their experiences and what they can do to shape their ideas.

2. Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is an essential part of interacting and influencing others. This class aims to teach our students how to recognize and analyze their emotions and get valuable information from them. The course will cover the five elements that make up emotional intelligence:

  • Self-awareness
  • Self-regulation
  • Motivation
  • Empathy
  • Social skills.

Finally, we will delve into ways they can develop emotional intelligence and align with their values.

3. Mindfulness

When we have mindful leaders in society, we create a ripple effect of inspiring and transforming others. An essential trait of an effective leader is their ability to connect; with themselves and others. This Mindfulness class will teach our students how exactly to do that. This introductory course to mindfulness will look into the benefits, recent research around mindfulness, practical ways to practice mindfulness, and invaluable knowledge they can take with them long after the class is over!

4. Confidence

Confidence and leadership are closely linked, and people understandably tend to admire leaders who exude confidence. Kids need to learn to trust their capabilities first and then learn to develop confidence that will not allow external factors such as failure to come in the way. In this class, our students will learn to differentiate between what confidence is and isn’t and can develop the confidence of the different areas that can develop: physiological, mental, and core values.

5. Preparing an impactful presentation.

Maya Angelou said, “People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel”. When giving a presentation, if you can invoke emotions in people, they will remember what was presented. In this class, we will go over the tips and tricks to create a dynamic PowerPoint. We will also touch upon best practices for storytelling and resources for inspiration and information.

6. PowerPoint Karaoke

This is a recurring event that allows us to think on our feet and get real-time feedback in a safe, judgment-free zone. Each of us will get 3 minutes to present a random series of slides from multiple decks that we have intermingled and that we have never seen before. The team will join in to provide feedback afterward on where we did well and ways to improve eye contact, gestures, posture, and diction.

7. Communication Skills

Good communication skills involve choosing your words carefully, issuing clarifying statements, and reiterating complex conversations to verify the information. In this class, participants will:

  • Apply excellent communication skills as they relate to workplace communication
  • Practice using practical listening skills
  • Analyze ways to avoid communication roadblocks to facilitate practical communication skills
